Terms and Conditions for Blue Orchid
No-shows, late arrivals and early departures after your arrival are non-refundable.
CancellationsPayments are refundable when notice of cancellation has been received in writing, by fax or by e-mail at least 30 days in advance of the arrival date on the reservation.Policies and InformationThe Owner and Blue Orchid reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at their complete discretion. The Owner and Blue Orchid will not be responsible for accident, injury or for the loss of money, jewelry or valuables of any kind. Upon signing the rental agreement, you agree to all of the policies and requirements stated herein, on the rental agreement and by those enforced by Blue Orchid Guest will have a set of keys and will be solely responsible for locking of the residence and the safekeeping of their personal valuables during their visit. Owner and GPR assume no responsibility for insuring that the residence is locked and secured during the period of occupation by Guests. In addition, Agent and Owner shall be held harmless from all claims or causes of actions arising from the rental and occupation of the residence by Guest. GPR is located in a quiet neighborhood. Guest shall be quiet and peacefully enjoy the premises so as not to disturb other guests in other units. No pets allowed.SmokingThere is no smoking allowed in our residence, period. If this policy is violated and smoking is detected in the villa a $1000 penalty will be charged to the credit card on file, as well as any required cleaning services.SafeA digital safe is located in the closet.Drugs and Hazardous MaterialsNo illegal or hazardous substances shall be brought into the residence by guests or visitors.HurricanesHurricane season is June 1 - November 30. If you are traveling to St. John during this time period we highly recommend trip cancellation insurance. This insurance should cover you in the case of a natural disaster; please verify all terms and conditions with the insurance company prior to purchasing the coverage. Below you will find some travel insurance companies for your consideration. These companies are not, in any way, affiliated with Blue Orchid and Blue Orchid is not liable, in any way, for any contracts between said insurance companies, and the traveling parties. If you are currently on St. John and a hurricane is threatening the island and the owner (not the guest) specifically requires that the guest depart the residence early, we will refund your money for your unspent days. Other expenses including, but not limited to, airfares, food, beverage, chartered services, or accommodations taken elsewhere in relation to the weather event are not included or covered by this refund policy. In the event of a weather related natural disaster, we are not responsible for damage to, or loss of, personal property or automobiles.GatheringsNo parties or gatherings other than rental guests of the residence are allowed without written consent of the owner. Additional fees may apply.Weddings and Other Special EventsAny villa function such as a dinner party, wedding, reception, etc. require prior written consent. There is a fee to hold any type of get together or function at our villas beyond the number of people listed on your confirmation. The fee ranges is $500 for this privilege. A refundable event security deposit is also required. Guest will pay any fines or penalties resulting from non-compliance.Service/RepairIf the residence or any of its systems or amenities require service or repair the guest will agree to make the residence available for the service technician. We strive to make your villa stay as comfortable and trouble free as possible; however there are some services over which we do not have any control. Problems with the electrical service, telephone connections, both land line and cellular, Internet Service as well as cable or satellite television are managed by other service providers and we cannot promise that the service will not be interrupted or available. GPR does occasionally have interruptions in the satellite and DSL/WiFi connections and such repairs may take between 2 and 10 days to be resolved. Because of the location of the satellite these systems are sensitive to weather conditions and the signal will break up or fail during heavy rain storms. Happily these rains are mostly brief. Please report inoperative equipment to GPR and we will make every effort to have repairs done as quickly as possible during reasonable hours. Speed of service cannot be guaranteed due to our reliance on island services, repair and utility companies. We will make every effort to work with the various service providers to restore any interrupted service as quickly as possible but we are at the mercy of the scheduling and effort of the other agency.Complaints and MaintenanceNo refunds will be issued for minor disruptions of any utilities including, but not limited to, power outages, water outages, telephone service, etc. This policy does not cover intentional acts that results in damage, gross negligence, willful and wanton conduct, or any cause if the guest fails to report the damage to Blue Orchid before departure. Coverage does not apply to theft or damage of any property owned by or brought onto the premises by a guest. In cases of abuse and malicious damage to rental property the guest will reimburse Agent and/or Owner the amount of all damage including attorney's fees. Security Deposit Waiver FeeWe require a $35 non-refundable Security Deposit Waiver fee for all reservations. The fee is in lieu of a damage deposit and is an insurance fee to cover accidental villa damage or loss up to $500. If damage occurs during your stay, guest must notify the Owner or GPR office immediately to have the damages/loss covered. The policy does not cover acts that are intentional or due to gross negligence, willful/wanton conduct, or any cause if guest fails to report the damage/loss before departure from the villa. Theft or damage of any property owned by or brought onto the premises by a Guest is not covered under this waiver. If malicious or intentional Guest damage occurs, the Guest will reimburse Owner or GPR the full replacement costs including attorney's fees.
Travel InsuranceWe highly advise your purchasing travel insurance. We recommend that you purchase travelers insurance, especially when traveling during hurricane season, June-November, and suggest the following insurance providers.
